Goodwill Find... Plastic Flowers and Picks

Hello vintage lovers!! Made a stop by goodwill the other day and found this bag of beauties for only 2.59! It had been on the shelf for over a week with no one showing any interest. I decided to pick it up today to see what all was in it. When I realized not only was there silk flowers there was some plastic flowers and floral picks mixed in too. Me being the vintage lover I am had to buy it for those plastic beauties (I believe these are from the 60s because of the tags a couple of the picks had on them), do I know what I am going to do with them? No... Do I regret buying them? Also... No... I collect, that is what I do. I collect things that appeal to me and that I love or think is pretty. Will they stay in their bag for another 40 years? Possibly but they are mine now and I could not be happier! The silk flowers are newer I believe those are from the 80s/90s, there was also a very pretty pink and white doily mixed in, that was another fun bonus to buying the bag!

Christmas in November.... Plush Santa Doll...

Hello vintage lovers!! I can not believe that November is over half way over already.... I have been getting my Christmas stuff together this week, I don't know why I don't start at the beginning of November cause it always takes me days to get my stuff up and together. I have to get all the stuff I have picked up over the year and reorganize, I am still missing some items and I am not too happy about that.... I am hoping it hasn't gotten thrown out by mistake or donated.... A little off topic of my post but getting back on track... Now...
I wasn't going to stop by my goodwill today but something told me to go, and boy I am glad I did! I found this awesome dude waiting for me, he was only 2.99! I have a small collection of these plush Santa dolls, I love them. All of mine have issues but that's what you are going to get with a toy that is over 50 years old. I say toy because that is what these guys were made for, to give to children for Christmas. They only recently (within the last 20 years) have become collectible. I have found 4 of mine at goodwill, 1 at a flea market and one belonged to my grandmother. I am going to do a post about my Santa collection in December so be on the lookout!
My love for these cuties came from my grandmother, she had a rushton coca cola Santa that I loved so dearly. She really didn't like me playing with him but I begged her every weekend I visited. I was so excited when Christmas came, that meant the Santa came out. I am lucky enough to have been given this Santa when my grandmother passed away.
This guy has the face of a rushton but he is not marked. His maker is unknown, he has hong kong on his boots and tag on his body. He is in very good condition, his beard is a little dirty but his suit looks good and his boots just need a little soap and water. His face paint is very vibrant with no scuffs, I was so happy to find him. Like all my collections I will never say no to one of these guys they are too cute!

Christmas in November... Boxes for Decoration

Hello vintage lovers!! Went to the salvation army last week and this week, of course I found a few Christmas items to add to the collection. One of my favorite items to find is vintage boxes to use in my decor. I love the box art on the older boxes, it is so pretty and the quality is amazing. Last week I found the tree stand box (it does have a tree stand in it) the best part about this is I found that there was a box with the tree stand in it and then this box was on the outside, so this can be displayed with out the stand in it (cause that thing is heavy. I can also use the other box with the stand for outside decor (I have a covered porch) I only paid $1.29. The other item I found that day was an italian made tree star, the box graphics are cute (I like the Santa face) and I do like the star, it was only .99. The last box I found was my absolute favorite. It is a shiny brite box for a tree topper, I was hoping the topper was in there but no such luck, there was some small ornaments and a small tinsel garland for a little tree. Those will be nice for crafting if I ever get to that. I love the graphics on this box and it was only .59 that was well worth it for the box alone. I can hardly wait to get my Christmas decor up.

Salvation Army Find.... Beistle Pumpkin Man Card Board Decoration

Hello vintage lovers!! Wouldn't you know that I would find an awesome Halloween decoration after it is over, sigh... There is always next year! This is a beistle pumpkin man I think he is from the 70s by the looks of the print on his shirt. I can not be for sure though cause I could not find one exactly like him. He is in really good shape, no rips or tears, there isn't even any tape residue on him and he has a string to hang him from. I asked the lady who runs the register all the time if he was for sale (he was hanging in the front window of the store), she said he is now and let me have him! I don't remember seeing him hanging up but I guess he was being used for decor and I didn't even notice him. I got this guy for .59!! He is awesome!

Christmas in November... .99 bag of random and a few other things

Hello vintage lovers!! Like I had warned you before, there is probably going to be a lot of Christmas posts from now till January. Hope you like to be holly jolly for a couple of months! Dropped some stuff off at salvation army earlier this week and like I always do, I looked around. Found a bag of of ornaments, candle huggers and a celluloid santa sleigh for .99! I also picked up the pack of never opened napkins for .59, the caroler figure for .69 and the deer cross stitch for .25 (this was from a church rummage but wanted to share it). Got a few other things that will be in a different post. The santa head ornaments are really cute and I can use those this year cause my son can't break them.

Estate Sale Find... Faux Gold Pearl and Brown Australian Crystal Necklace

Hello vintage lovers!! This will be the last of my estate sale posts from a couple of weekends ago. I found this lovely piece of jewelry at the second sale we went to. They only charged me .25 and it is pretty. I can not find a makers mark or anything to identify what kind of necklace it is. It has faux gold pearls and brown and clear austaralian crystals. This will make a very nice addition to my collection I was very excited to find it.

Christmas in November... Spun Cotton and Chenille Pipe Cleaner Snowmen

Hello vintage lovers!! Today we are doing the first of many Christmas finds in November, thrift stores are bringing out the good stuff and I am not saying no (as usual). I found these guys at one of the estate sales I went to couple weeks ago. They were in this box with a couple of other misc ornaments. I just loved their cute little faces and bow ties. I only paid $2 for the whole box, I don't have an idea on how I am going to use these guys but I am sure something will come to me.

Estate Sale Find... Trifari Flower Clip On Earrings

Hello vintage lovers!! Another unbelievable estate sale find was these Trifari clip on earrings, I paid .50 for these at the second sale I went to. From my research I believe these are from the 1940s and they are white milk glass petals with pearl centers. They are more of a gold tone in person. I thought these were very pretty and I love flower earrings so they had to come home with me. I did try them on and they were very heavy, that means they are good quality. Don't know if I will ever wear them but they will be pretty on display.

Estate Sale Find... Valentine's

Hello vintage lovers!! Here is another find from my estate sales a couple of weekends ago. The two sales we went to were really nice and had some great items. I got this pack of almost complete valentine's, I was only missing 3 of the 18, even the teacher card was left in the package. Makes you wonder why they bought the pack for only 3? Maybe they had 20 kids in the class so they had to take the rest from this pack? I am not complaining cause I get to have them now, it's just interesting. These cards are so well made and I love the graphics on them and none of them are duplicates like now a days. You can really tell the quality in these older items, I only paid .25 for the whole pack, I kindof suspect that is because they were only .29 when they were purchased in the early 60s. This is one of those purchases I am not sure what to do with but I am glad I got them!

Estate Sale Find.... Coro bracelet and screw back earrings

Hello vintage lovers!! Went to some great estate sales a couple weekends ago, found some amazing jewelry at both sales I went to. Most of the jewelry was not marked just your average costume jewelry that I love so much. These two pieces was marked Coro it is a vintage jewelry maker from the early 1900's. They were in business till the late 70s early 80s. From my research I believe my tow pieces are from the 1940's because of the makers mark. This jewelry is in amazing condition to be that old, the bracelet looks brand new. I love how they sparkle in the light, you do not find jewelry like that now a days. It is funny because each of these pieces came from two different sales but was the same brand. The bracelet has rhinestones and faux pearls, the earrings have white and purple rhinestones. I paid $1 for the bracelet and .50 for the earrings. Of course they will stay in my collection, I can not get rid of vintage jewelry it is too beautiful to me.
