Salvation Army Find-Valentine's Books-Disney-Generic

Hello vintage lovers!! Wasn't sure if I should share this on this blog or not but as you can see I made the decision. The reason I wasn't sure was because these have a bar code so they have to be from the mid 70s to early 80s (I say because of the graphics) but I guess that is vintage isn't it? Oh dear I am vintage, I was born in 81', anyways. I thought these was so cute and I do love a good vintage valentine.
They seem more like the late 60s with their graphics but the barcode says otherwise. Both books was .99 a piece, that is a steal to me. They had some other vintage ephemera but they was mostly cards and they wanted .99 a piece for them so I left them behind, if they are there next week I may pick them up or a few of them. I just love the graphics on older cards, they are so detailed and pretty.  Hope you enjoy them too!

Yard Sale Find and A Clean Up-Pyrex Verde Olive/Berry Casserole Dish with Lid

Hello vintage lovers!! This past weekend I went to a few yard sales (so happy they are back on) I found this pyrex piece at one. Of course there is a story, have you met me? I mean have you read this blog?? I picked this up and it was wrapped like the goodwill does to keep the lid together, and of course there was a goodwill price sticker for 2.99 on the bottom. I asked how much for the dish, she said $6.... Well she had to make a little money right? So I got my money out, she flipped it over and saw the sticker, then said "is that ok??" knowing I saw the price. I told her it was fine I mean I wasn't going to find it for at the goodwill I never have luck like that.
As you can see there is a film around the bottom part, everything else was fine. I knew I could clean it up, so it did. I soaked it with dawn power shot spray (I LOVE this stuff for my pyrex I have used it a few times and it has worked so well. I let it set for about 30 min, then lightly scrub and the marks or film is gone! See how nice it looks in the last two pics??? Also forgot to mention when I was taking the sticker off the bottom the date on the sticker was 03/16/21..... That was like a week ago.... Did she buy this just to resell it to make $3 off of it?? We may never know but it is in my home now, cleaned up and happy.

Goodwill Find-Did I Actually Find Vintage Pins????

Hello vintage lovers!! This past weekend I ran into goodwill and what do you know right up front on top of the jewelry case was some older jewelry. For a back story, my goodwill never has old jewelry, they only new with tag stuff that I do not like. I feel like they send the good stuff to be auctioned but I don't know.            There was an older man looking when I got there and I was hoping he wouldn't take everything. He did leave me these pretty pieces so I was happy, there was a couple of pins that did not have the bling but I need the bling lol. There was also some rings and a few necklaces but nothing that caught my eye. Was happy to come home with these since I rarely find anything like this and they was only 1.99 a piece, pretty good deal if you ask me.

Where I Use My Finds-Salt and Pepper Shakers (yard sale find)

Hello vintage lovers!! Haven't done one of these in a long time, this is a blog where I show you how I use my vintage items. Late last summer I went to a yard sale where I found 10 sets of salt and pepper shakers (there was a ton but I limited myself) so of course I couldn't leave them there. I used to collect salt and pepper shakers about 10 years ago but you know how it goes you lose interest and move on. I have always been drawn to the more animorphic style I just love the cartoon faces on fruit and veggies!
I have picked up the random set here and there but last summer was the mega haul so I decided to put all my salt and pepper shaker on my little shelf in my kitchen and they look oh so cute! I did put my jadeite shakers up there too but when I get more shakers (which you know I will) those will come down and go somewhere else. I do have a couple random sets of shakers in different spots but those are more sentimental so they are displayed differently. *P.S. pleas ignore the pen mark on my wall that was from my oldest son when he was 2 and I could not get it off the wall, I have no idea what type of pain they used in this house but it is not kid friendly)*

Estate Sale Find-Mercury Glass Bead Garland

Hello vintage lovers!! I went to an estate sale disguised as a yard sale this past weekend and found a couple of gems. One of them being all of these strands of mercury glass beads. Some of them was in a bag in the bottom of a box and the little box had some plastic beads on top of them but I seen the wire end poking out so I was like oh yeah we are buying those too. I got all of these strands of beads for..... are you ready for it......????...... $1!!!! Can you even believe that??? Most of the items was new so when I found the couple of items I found it was a shock.
There was 10 stands of beads (two sets was tied together so there is only 8 bags). I decided to put them in individual bags so they would be better protected and would not get tangled. I also put them in a plastic storage bin by themselves to stay safer. I can not believe I got so lucky to find these for the price I did!!

Antique Mall Find-McKee Custard Glass Shaker

Hello vintage lovers!! It's been a while, I have not been finding vintage like I used to or maybe I have just became more selective of what I buy. Also sometimes I forget to take pics of my items but I am trying to get better at that.
My mom and I went to an antique mall a couple of weeks ago, I only purchased this one item but I really love it! It is the McKee custard glass shaker. It has a yellow lid which I do not know if that is original I am thinking it's not but I like it. The glass has a lot of imperfections in it but again that's what I like. I only paid $5 for this beauty I know that is one awesome deal.

I Finally Completed My Primary Fridgie Set.....

Hello vintage lovers!! Brace yourselves.... There is going to be a lot of pyrex posts cause I have been lazy and just got around to taking pics all at the same time (maybe) just want to warn you. Okay, enjoy...
Today I am going to talk about completing my primary fridge set of pyrex. It all started with one of the small red ones I got it at a yard sale for $2. Then I got the yellow one at an estate sale for $5, then came the second red one at an antique mall for $5.95 (as you can tell I started to pay a little more for them as time passed). The last piece to be found was the blue one, oh that elusive blue dish, I did pay up for that one but I was desperate. I paid $24 for it at an antique shop, so the complete total was $38. Not a bad price at all most start out at $50 and are not in the best shape and they just go up from there. Was glad to find what I did, of course I do wish the blue one could have been found at a yard sale but it took me 2 years to complete this set I had waited long enough.

Completing My Pyrex Spring Blossom Refrigerator Dishes Set

Hello vintage lovers!! I finally completed my spring blossom refrigerator dish set! If you didn't know last summer around this time to be exact I found the whole spring blossom fridge set at a yard sale for $5 but it was missing the lid to the 502 dish. I had the lid for a 501 and 503 (of course) but not 502. So of course I had to give in a buy the missing lid off of etsy but that is ok, I tried to find it for a year in the wild but it didn't happen. After I set this set up I realized this lid did not match the other lids on the set but that is ok it is still a lid for that dish it was just made at a different time.
The lid ended up costing $13 after shipping and handling, with the cost of the set at the sale I got the whole dish set for $18! The thrill of the hunt for me is to piece together my sets for as cheap as I can and in the wild but every now and then I have to go online and it has to be a really big need for that.  The price I ended up paying was not bad at all and I completed another set! Don't think I have talked about the primary sets yet but you know I will get to those soon!
